Alumni relations note

Nearly 18 months after the start of the pandemic, we welcomed alumni back into College in the late summer of 2021. Long postponed reunions brought Johnians together again in the Hall, the gardens were filled with families at the Johnian Society Day and flashes of red could be seen around the courts as guests assembled for the LMBC reunion event. College is currently buzzing with activity and the work on the Community Hub is continuing apace. If you haven’t been back to College since 2019 then I hope you’ll consider returning this year, whether to one of our reunion events this summer, to exercise your dining privileges or for a casual stroll through the grounds and punt along the river.

You may have noted that there was just one issue of the Johnian in 2021. In August we said goodbye to our publications officer Hannah Sharples and shortly afterwards welcomed Ellie Collingwood into the role. I hope you enjoy this first issue under her editorship. While we’re pleased to return to usual operations, you’ll see that we are continuing to provide online events as we believe they play a valuable role in bringing the global alumni network together. We hope that 2022 proves to be a year of increasing connection between the Johnian community.
