Dining privileges

Johnians who matriculated as undergraduates six or more years ago and Johnians who began a course of graduate studies three or more years ago, if not currently in residence, are welcome to dine in College up to three times per academic year at College expense, with some exceptions.

Other alumni benefits

Owing to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, St John’s has implemented a number of practical measures to prioritise the safety of its staff, students, Fellows and alumni. The College is currently closed to all visitors including alumni of the College and University. The College has therefore regrettably suspended on-site alumni benefits for the time being, including the exercising of dining privileges.

We will update alumni when these benefits resume. As and when they do, please make your dinner bookings through the Assistant to the Fellows’ Steward on 01223 338686, by email at or by using the form below a minimum of 7 days before you wish to dine.

Two different schemes are in operation: dining at the Fellows’ table, and dining in the main body of the Hall at the MA table. The MA table is the option available for Johnians wishing to be accompanied at dinner by a guest. This document provides more information about the two schemes:
