Varsity Matches 2023
The Annual ‘Battle of the Blues’ will take place on Saturday 25 March 2023 at Twickenham Stadium.
The Varsity Matches have traditionally been played on a Thursday in December, but the switch to a Saturday in spring presents an exciting new opportunity to experience this historic rivalry at the home of English rugby!
St John’s has a rich rugby history at CURUFC, and currently has four players in the senior squad for the men’s blues and one in the women’s blues squad.
Conor Gibbons (2021, History), Hugo Lloyd-Williams (2019, History), Ikechi Mere (2020, Engineering), Jordan Mubako (2022, Chemistry, Engineering & Biotech) and Buzz Gilks (2016, Pharmacology).
This year the College will not be hosting an event on the day of the matches, but we are pleased to confirm that there are a range of tickets available for Johnians to cheer on the light blues:
– General admission tickets;
– Group tickets (20% discount on purchases of 10+ adult tickets);
– Special tickets for OURFC and CURUFC former players;
– Executive boxes (10-26 people per executive box);
– Opportunity to sit with current students for alumni who graduated from 2020 onwards (Email: jonny.andrews@curufc.com.).
