The Lady Margaret Boat Club Boathouse Grand Reopening

After months of scaffolding, construction and careful restoration, the transformation of the Lady Margaret Boat Club Boathouse is almost complete. Soon, the sounds of builders at work will give way once again to the familiar rhythm of rowing on the Cam, and we are delighted to invite alumni back to see the results for themselves.

Join us on Sunday 11 October from 3pm to 5pm, as we celebrate the reopening of this historic home of Johnian rowing and mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the Club’s history.

The afternoon will commence with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3pm, formally reopening the boathouse. Guests will then be invited to explore the newly renovated spaces, discover the improvements that have been made and enjoy a photographic exhibition capturing the remarkable journey of the project from its earliest stages through to completion.

For generations of Johnians, the boathouse has been far more than a place to store boats. It has been the backdrop to early morning outings, hard-fought victories, lifelong friendships and countless memories on the river. We are thrilled to be able to welcome alumni back through its doors and share how this much-loved building has been renewed for future generations of LMBC rowers.
