Charity Sector Career Networking Evening

We are delighted to invite you to a charity sector networking evening in London, bringing together Johnians working across a wide range of charitable organisations and roles.

We will hear from alumni at different stages of their careers and from different corners of the sector. Through a panel discussion and audience Q&A, our speakers will share insights into their work, career journeys, the challenges facing the sector, and the impact their organisations are making. The panel will be moderated by The Rev’d Dr Victoria Johnson, Dean of Chapel, and The Rev’d Graham Dunn, Chaplain, who oversee the College’s Common Good Programme – an initiative exploring how we work, live and thrive together for the betterment of communities and society.

Whether you work in fundraising, communications, programme delivery, leadership, philanthropy, social impact, or are simply interested in learning more about careers in the sector, the evening promises lively discussion and valuable networking opportunities.

Meet our panellists:

Adam Green (1993)
Adam Green is an operatic baritone, music educator and social entrepreneur. He is the Founder and Director of the Prison Choir Project, an award-winning charity that uses music to support rehabilitation in prisons across the UK. Through choirs, songwriting projects, performances and recordings, the charity helps people in custody build confidence, creativity and a sense of purpose while demonstrating the transformative power of the arts. Adam is a Music graduate of St John’s College.

Susannah Hardyman MBE (2004)
Susannah is the Chief Executive of Impetus. She brings extensive experience in education and youth-focused charities, with a deep commitment to tackling educational inequality. Before joining Impetus, Susannah was the founder and Chief Executive of Action Tutoring, one of the UK’s leading education charities that has supported tens of thousands of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to improve their academic outcomes. Susannah holds an MA in Theology from St John’s and in 2024 she was awarded an MBE in recognition of her services to Education.
