Oli studied engineering at St. John’s but his fondest memories of College were playing (and captaining) rugby with the Red Boys. After graduating he obtained his PhD from Imperial College London and then worked as a postdoc at the University of Texas at Austin for a couple of years before returning to the UK to become an academic within the Aeronautics Department at Imperial College London. Since September 2021 he has been appointed a Reader in experimental fluid mechanics. He has recently married Rebecca, to whom he proposed in Ethiopia, and lives with his pet dog and rabbit.
Oli Buxton (2003) is one of the newest members of the Johnian Society Committee, having joined earlier this month. Here he tells us a bit about himself and shares some memories from his time at St John’s.
