In the previous issue of Johnian magazine we asked you to share your feedback on the publication with regard to content, format and delivery. We received hundreds of responses and are grateful to every one of you for the time and consideration you gave it.
There were some clear messages to us from the data – for example, the vast majority of respondents are happy with the current frequency of publications. Those who prefer the digital version do so for reasons of convenience and environmental impact.
Opinions varied on the type of content we write about and how we do it. There were, however, some common requests for more coverage of certain aspects of College news and research, so we will look at ways of weaving this into the publication in future issues. We’ll continue to signpost you to the College’s various media channels where you can find the latest, timely updates from St John’s.
The survey has, nevertheless, helped us to take one significant decision about the future of the magazine. We will continue to produce two issues of Johnian magazine per year, in spring and autumn, but the autumn issue will be digital only from now on. We believe that reducing the volume of our print material is the right thing to do in the current climate emergency.
If you want to change how you receive publications from us, such as opting out of print entirely or ensuring you receive our digital publications, send us an email.
