Spooky Stories Virtual Event
Get ready for a night of frightful fun at our Spooky Stories Virtual Night – an online gathering where eerie tales and ghostly legends take centre stage.
As the lights dim and shadows grow, our talented alumni will take to the (virtual) stage to share original spine-chilling stories crafted just for the occasion. Each tale promises its own brand of suspense, mystery, and shivers, delivered with flair by storytellers who know how to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Got your own ghost story? We want to hear it! Whether it’s a haunting from your College days or a strange encounter from afar, send us your spooky submissions at development@joh.cam.ac.uk and you might just get featured during the event.
To help set the mood, we’ll be posting out themed goody bags ahead of time, complete with treats to enjoy while you listen. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know when booking using the form below.
So grab a cozy blanket, brew something warm, and join us for an evening of stories that are sure to stir your imagination, and maybe even something from the other side…
Find a quiet, private space
It’s important to find a quiet space to listen to the talk in order not to be disruptive to others while your microphone is on.
Always mute your microphone if you’re not speaking
This ensures you enter the talk quietly and that any background noises that could be distracting to the speaker and other participants are now inaudible. To ‘mute’ yourself, click the ‘Mute’ button (a microphone symbol). A red slash will appear over the microphone icon indicating that your audio is now off.
Raise your hand
During the Q&A session, click on the icon labelled ‘Participants’ at the bottom centre of your PC or Mac screen. At the bottom of the window on the right side of the screen, click the button labelled ‘Raise Hand’. Your digital hand is now raised, and the moderator will tell you when it’s your turn to ask your question.
