Johnian Society Centenary 2023
This year marks the centenary of the Johnian Society, and to celebrate the occasion the committee has prepared a very special weekend of activities. Johnians are also encouraged to organise their own informal reunion over this weekend.
On Saturday 23 September the day will start with an afternoon tea in the Old Divinity School, followed by a talk on Music and Arts by conductor Stephanie Childress (2015). After the talk, there will be a champagne reception which will be followed by a concert from past members of The Gentlemen of St John’s. In the evening, there will be a drinks reception and black tie dinner in Hall.
The afternoon tea, talk, reception and concert are complimentary and open to all Johnians. If you wish to attend only this part of the event, please select the option “Saturday 23 September – Afternoon entertainment only” below.
On Sunday 24 September the Society invites you to explore the best outdoor activities the College has to offer at a Garden Party. The day will be the perfect opportunity to reunite with fellow Johnians, their families and friends, while enjoying a delightful picnic lunch, refreshing drinks and live music in the Fellows’ Garden. Johnians can also make use of the College Punts throughout the day.
There will be accommodation available in College on Friday and Saturday. Please do let us know the room you were in during your time at St John’s when making your accommodation booking. If your old room is available on these nights, we’ll do our best to allocate it to you on this occasion and you’ll find out your room number at the time of the check-in.
