Johnian Hub Jobs Board: terms of use
https://johnianhub.com/jobs (Jobs Board) is provided by The Master, Fellows and Scholars of the College of Saint John The Evangelist in the University of Cambridge of St John’s Street, Cambridge CB2 1TP (referred to as “We” or “Our”) to provide a platform for you to advertise your employment opportunities to our alumni community.
This page sets out the terms of use on which you may post a job opportunity on our Jobs Board.
By uploading content to the Jobs Board, you confirm that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to comply with them, so please read them carefully.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our Jobs Board to post any information.
Changes to these terms and other terms that apply
We may amend these terms of use from time to time. Every time you wish to post on our Jobs Board, please check these terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time.
Graduway’s (the organisation who hosts the Jobs Board) terms of website use also apply to your use of the Jobs Board.
Content Standards
These Content Standards apply to any and all material which you contribute to the Jobs Board (Contribution).
The Content Standards must be complied with in spirit as well as to the letter. The Content Standards apply to each part of any Contribution as well as to its whole.
Graduway’s (the organisation who hosts the Jobs Board) terms of website use also apply to your use of the Jobs Board.
We will determine, in our discretion, whether a Contribution breaches the Content Standards.
A contribution must:
- be accurate (where it states facts);
- be genuinely held (where it states opinions);
- comply with all law applicable in England and Wales and in any country from which it is posted;
- comply with all legal obligations in relation to employment, equality, insurance and health and safety obligations, and in particular (but not limited to) the legal requirements contained in the following legislation: the Employment Rights Act 1996, Equality Act 2010, National Minimum Wage Act 1998 and the National Minimum Wage Regulations 2015, Part-time Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2000, Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006, Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Human Rights Act 1998.
A contribution must not:
- damage our reputation or take advantage of it;
- establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists;
- disrupt, interfere with or restrict the use of the Jobs Board by other users;
- be unlawful or fraudulent, or have any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect;
- be defamatory of any person;
- be obscene, harmful or inflammatory;
- promote sexually explicit material;
- promote violence;
- promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
- infringe any copyright, database right, trade mark or any other intellectual property right of any other person;
- be likely to deceive any person;
- breach any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence;
- promote any illegal activity;
- be in contempt of court;
- be threatening, abusive or invade another’s privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;
- be likely to harrass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person;
- give the impression that the Contribution emanates from us, if this is not the case;
- advocate, promote or incite any party to commit, or assist any unlawful or criminal act such as (by way of example only) copyright infringement or computer misuse;
- contain a statement which you know or believe, or have reasonable grounds for believing, that members of the public to whom the statement is, or is to be, published are likely to understand as a direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism;
- contain any advertising or promote any services or web links to other sites;
- transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam).
Use of the Jobs Board
You may only use the Jobs Board for lawful purposes. You may not use the Jobs Board:
- in any way that breaches applicable local, national or international law;
- to knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, spyware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware;
- to access without authority, interfere with, damage or disrupt:
- any part of the Jobs Board;
- any equipment or network on which the Jobs Board is stored;
- any software used in the provision of the Jobs Board;
- any equipment or network or software owned or used by any third party.
Breach of these terms
When we consider that a breach of these terms of use has occurred, we may take such action as we deem appropriate.
Any failure to comply with these terms of use constitutes a material breach of these terms and may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:
- immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of your right to access, use and/or post on the Jobs Board;
- immediate, temporary or permanent removal of any Contribution uploaded by you to the Jobs Board;
- issue of a warning to you;
- legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach;
- further legal action against you;
- disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel is necessary or as required by law.
Liability
We exclude our liability for all action we may take in response to breaches of these terms of use. The actions we may take are not limited to those described above, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.
We do not moderate Contributions and take no responsibility for any Contribution posted to the Jobs Board by you or any third party. We are not responsible for the adequacy of any applicant or the truthfulness of any application received by you in response to any Contribution posted on the Jobs Board.
Jurisdiction
These terms of use, their subject matter and formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
