How you can help

The list below details services and equipment that is replaced annually or on a rolling programme with income from the endowed sports fund. Providing sponsorship for a team would also be a possible use of a gift. The long term plan for field sports would eventually include a new sports pavilion to replace the current structure, which is 70-80 years old.

General Field Sport Costs

  •  Line painting the field (annual cost) £2000
  • Fertilizer for sports grounds (annual cost) £5000
  • College Head Groundsman employment costs and associated costs for a year. £30,000 (matched total £60,000)

Cricket  

  • Carpets in cricket cages (every 8 years) £6000
  • Nets on cricket cages (redone every 5 years) £3000
  • Sight screens (four on the field at one time, damaged often) £1500 per set
  • 2 bats (over 4 years) £250 each
  • 1 set of cricket pads (annual cost) £60 
  • Set of cricket stumps (replaced on average every 10 years) £45 
  • 24 cricket balls (annual cost) £120
  • 1 set of cricket gloves (annual cost) £25 

 Luxury desired Cricket item: 

  • Motorized cricket ground roller £15,000 

 Rugby

  • Scrummage machine (10 year + lifespan)  £6000 
  • 6 Tackle bags (replaced every 10 years) £360 each 
  • 1 Set of post protectors (replaced every 5-7 years) £250 
  • 4 Rugby balls (annual/season cost) £60 
  • 12 Rucking shields (replaced every 15-20 years) £45 each

Football

  • Set of goals (long lifespan) £1200 each
  • 3 sets of goal nets (annual cost) £180 per set
  • 4 Footballs (annual cost) £60 each
