How you have helped so far

One in five Johnians around the world have helped the College to successfully complete the first phase of our long-term development strategy.  Some of our key achievements are highlighted below:

Attracting the best

  • 1 school liaison post funded
  • 2 quincentenary essay prizes for sixth form students across the UK awarded yearly
  • 4–5 targeted graduate scholarship programmes offered every year
  • £4 million raised through Corfield matched bursary scheme

Furthering academic excellence

  • 3 Research Fellowships funded
  • Norman Bleehen Award set up to support annual visiting scholar
  • Fellowship in Land Economy fully funded


Enhancing College life

  • £2.3 million raised for field sports
  • £60,000 raised to support individuals in sport through the Paul Beard Fund
  • Embracing Participation and Excellence Campaign launched to raise £5 million for LMBC
  • Choral Foundation Campaign launched to raised £5 million for the Choir

Restoring our buildings

  • 41 graduate rooms, 6 Fellows’ sets and 2 seminar rooms created through the Corfield Court redevelopment project
  • £2 million raised for the Merton Hall restoration project
  • Over £1 million raised to house new archive centre in the School of Pythagoras
  • £3 million raised to redevelop the Divinity School
