Karena Vleck (1986)

Karena Vleck studied law at St John’s and helped found the University Women’s Rugby Team playing in the first and second Varsity Matches in 1988 and 1989. She is the General Counsel/Director of Legal and Business Affairs at World Rugby based in Monaco.  Recent executive experience includes being interim Head of Legal at the Lawn Tennis Association. Prior to that she was the Legal and Governance Director at the Rugby Football Union for 12 years. She trained as a solicitor at Farrer and Co before becoming a partner and head of the Sports Group. As a non-executive director she sits on the Cambridge Alumni Advisory Board, is a director of British Rowing, the safeguarding convenor at Eagle House Prep School and is a trustee of the Middlesex Sports Foundation. She was a director of the Varsity Match Company Limited, which is responsible for running and revitalising the Varsity Rugby.
